The Doctor receives a distress call from the scariest place in the Universe: a child's bedroom, as the time-travelling drama continues.

Fortunately for George, his desperate pleas for help break through the barriers of all time and space and the Doctor makes a house call. But allaying his fears won't be easy; because George's monsters are real.

Gatiss' letztes Drehbuch für Doctor Who war Victory of the Daleks. Bei der Wahl der beliebtesten Episode der fünften Staffel wählten die Leser des Doctor Who Magazine VotD auf den 13. Platz (also auf den letzten). Vollkommen zu Recht. Ohne Night Terrors gesehen zu haben, kann man jetzt schon positiv festhalten, dass die Episode nicht schlechter als VotD sein wird, denn schlechter als VotD geht es nicht.

Wie hier schon mehrmals erwähnt, war Night Terrors ursprünglich als dritte Episode geplant, wurde dann aber mit der Piratenepisode getauscht. Als der Episodentausch beschlossen wurde, war Night Terrors bereits abgedreht. Also musste man im Nachhinein noch etwas an der Episode herumschrauben. Unter anderem wurde eine Szene nachgedreht. Außerdem gehe ich davon aus, dass in der ersten Fassung Madame Kovarian an irgendeiner Stelle durch irgendeine Wand lugte, was sich ja jetzt Post-Cliffhanger erübrigt hat.

Bin kein Gatiss-Fan, mochte aber Victory of the Daleks, und fand es damals positiv, dass Gatiss versucht hatte, so ein bißchen den Standard-Plot-Devices zu entkommen. Die Frage ist nur, ob er das hier auch schafft, denn das Szenario ist tatsächlich so neu nicht. Und dazu kommt noch das zweite Problem: Protagonist der Folge ist scheinbar ein kleines Kind, und Kinder nerven ja generell immer, innerhalb der Flimmerkisten, wie auch außerhalb. Und deshalb bin ich auch etwas skeptisch und befürchte, dass das eine dieser unangenehmeren DoctorWho-Folgen wird. Andererseits gibts sich Gatiss unter Moffat wohl mehr Mühe. Na mal schauen...

Ich denke das wird wieder eine solide Folge ohne grosse Erzählungen.

Für meinen Geschmack genau das richtige um LKH zu verdauen... :D

Also, Mark Gatiss kann schreiben, erinnere mich gerne an The Unquiet Dead und Victory of the Daleks. Die waren doch solide. OK, Idiots Lantern war nicht mein Geschmack, aber besser als andere Abstürze dieser Staffel.

Es wird sowas ähnliches sein wie The Unquiet Dead - kurzweilige mit leichtem Grusel Folge.

Oder Gatiss überrascht uns diesmal mit etwas wirklich geiles, was ich aber nicht glaube. Der Mann will machen, schafft es aber nicht. ;)

Den Trailer zur Folge fand ich ja mal gruselig. Hoffe die Folge wird gut. Sieht zumindest interessant aus. Und ich hoffe echt auf eine schöne Einzelfolge.

Geht mir genauso, wobei die Sherlock Folge die Beste der Staffel war. Der Trailer sah ja mal vielversprechend und gruselig aus, ich hoffe die Folge wird dementsprechend auch so.
