    Die TARDIS bringt den Doctor zur Erde, wo er fast sofort Donna Noble, ihren Ehemann Shaun und ihre Tochter Rose trifft – kurz bevor ein Raumschiff mitten in London abstürzt. In der Verzweiflung, die Metakrise auszulösen, die unweigerlich zu Donnas Tod führen würde, verfolgt der Doctor das Schiff bis zu einem Stahlwerk, wo sich die herbeigerufenen UNIT-Soldaten sehr seltsam verhalten.
    In der Zwischenzeit ist ein frecher Außerirdischer namens Meep aus dem Schiff entkommen und hat bei Rose Unterschlupf gefunden.
    Aber als die Wrarth Krieger in die Residenz der Nobles eindringen, bleibt dem Doctor möglicherweise keine andere Wahl, als das Leben einer seiner besten Freunde aufs Spiel zu setzen.
