Awards und Abstimmungen

    Nur weiß ich nicht was das über die Kategorie (oder generell SF im Fernsehen) aussagt wenn jedes Jahr aufs neue 75% der Nominierungen aus Doctor Who-Episoden bestehen. Gibt's da nicht mehr Sachen die man nominieren könnte? Oder einfach nicht mehr Dinge die man für preiswürdig halten könnte?

    Der Hugo Award geht ja an Science Fiction und Fantasywerke und neben "Doctor Who" fallen mir nicht viele Serien ein, die in diese Genres fallen und eine Nomination verdient hätten, "Games of Thrones" und "Fringe" fallen mir auf die Schnelle ein, wobei ersteres ja nominiert wurde.

    Steven Moffat hat für sein bisheriges Wirken einen Sonderpreis der Britischen Film- und Fernsehakademie (BAFTA) erhalten; die selbe Ehrung wurde Russell T. Davies bereits 2005 zuteil. Der gemeinnützige Verein der amerikanischen Autoren von Science Fiction und Fantasy (SFWA) hat derweil erstmals bei ihren Nebula Awards eine Folge von Doctor Who mit ihrem Ray-Bradbury-Preis ausgezeichnet. Autor Neil Gaiman und Regisseur Richard Clark dürfen sich darüber freuen, mit "Die Frau des Doktors" (The Doctor's Wife) die Spielfilmgrößen Woody Allen und Martin Scorsese ausgestochen zu haben, die für "Midnight in Paris" und "Hugo Cabret" nominiert waren; auch "Source Code", "Der Plan" und "Attack the Block" standen mit auf der Liste.

    Es gilt zu bedenken, dass Zeitblase und Tütensuppe nicht das Gleiche sind.

    The Mill have been nominated in the Visual Effects and Graphic Design category for their incredible work on recent episodes and composer Murray Gold is nominated in the Original Television Music category, specifically for his outstanding music for Asylum of the Daleks.


    The British Academy Television Craft Awards celebrate the best of TV’s top behind-the-scenes talent and the winners will be announced at a ceremony in London on Sunday, April 28. Good luck to Murray and The Mill!
